Naadam Festival is probably the most important and exciting event of the year in Mongolia. It runs for three days in July, in all parts of the country, gathering the greatest athletes in Mongolia’s most popular sports: wrestling, archery and horse-racing. The festival starts with a colorful parade of athletes, monks and soldiers dressed in Genghis Khan-style uniforms. Visiting Mongolia during Naadam gives you an opportunity to see the best of Mongolian traditions in sports, folklore, cuisine and art.
